American version of the Ford Mustang Mach-e comes standard with a garage door/ entry gate remote integrated into the driver’s sun visor. This is a three-channel Homelink remote. European versions of the Ford Mustang Mach-e do not have a remote in the sun visor.
The integrated remote is never a hassle to find or forget and is conveniently located within easy reach. This remote does not require batteries and is connected to the vehicle’s electrical system. The Homelink remote can copy codes from another remote. It’s also easy to reset the remote and erase the gate or garage door opening codes, for example, before selling the vehicle.
The remote has three channels allowing you to control three different devices. The American version of the remote operates at a frequency of 315 MHz and is not compatible with most gate control receivers in Europe, which typically use a frequency of 433 MHz. European versions of Homelink remotes are factory-installed in some models sold in Europe, but this is not the case with the Ford Mustang Mach-e.
The simplest solution to using an American remote control is to replace the radio receiver in the gate or garage door control unit with one that will support an American Homelink transmitter. I have a gate control unit, a garage door control unit, and several remotes that operate on 433 MHz, so I preferred to convert the Homelink remote built into the sun visor to 433 MHz rather than replace all the other components.
For this purpose, I purchased sun visors from a Ford Mustang Mach-e GT from the USA with a built-in Homelink remote. Additionally, the American-version sun visors have a mechanism that allows them to extend to cover every part of the side window. European-version sun visors do not have this feature.
I removed buttons from visor and the mirror in the visor. I took out the Homelink module from the visor through mirror opening.

The remote control has a constant 12V power supply and three buttons. I found a similar three-channel remote compatible with gate controllers. It’s a Proxima P3K wall-mounted remote, programmed by the manufacturer for the NICE FLOR system. Importantly, it’s powered by 12V battery.
The button layout on the board is similar. I replaced the battery holder with wires for a constant power supply and moved the LED to fit the LED slot in the Homelink button cover. 
The fit wasn’t perfect, so I widened the bottom of the buttons a bit.

Next to do is to connect remote wires to the original wires in the sun visor, install button covers, and mount the visor in the car.
And that’s it.
